A quick sketch done with a Pitt "big brush artist pen" marker--at the time I was thinking of drawing my comic almost exclusively with the markers, and this was a bit of a test to see if that was feasible. It was done on Bristol over a very rough pencil layout (except for the hand--I just markered that in at the end).
I thought it came out surprisingly well, and it was this that convinced me to try using the markers to draw the comic, instead of brush and ink--although I would not end up duplicating the sense of freedom combined with realism and lighting that somehow came out here. So my current scheme is to use markers just for sketching. This drawing would, however, lead to a revolution in how I approached my brush work.
The character is loosely based on the bounty hunter Selenis from my hard sci-fi webcomic, "Supermassive Black Hole A*." Signed prints available here
