Worked very wet and let the ink wash get a little abstract on the face here, and dang if it didn't work out well somehow; like the shading just sort of magically came out that way along the sides of the nose--which is probably the best nose I've ever done, too. With my old lasso drawing digital method I didn't really have to learn how to draw noses 'cause I could just kind of whirl it around until the shape came out about right, but since going traditional I've had to educate myself, and I'll be darned if having a really good nose can't just make a piece all on its own. Man! I used to think detailed noses were to be avoided as unsightly protuberances.

Also some little hints of white ink on the bridge and nose tip really worked well to give it a bit of final definition, if I do say so myself.

And I liked how the wet wash flowed down beneath the eye like that, and then the abstractness of just leaving a bit of the lower cheek unwashed so there's that odd bright angular area.

Gotta remember this stuff so I can do it more often, darn it!

Signed prints of the final cropped version are available here (this is art for a page of my hard-sci fi webcomic, "Supermassive Black Hole A*).

I like your less "defined" works like Memories of Mother. This is reminiscent of that, with a little more line work. Keep up the good work!

Yeah same here, I like it when I can let abstractness take over a little.
