This was an entry for the Weekly Art Challenge thread on the ComicFury forums: draw your character as a season.
So this is Selenis the interstellar bounty hunter from my webcomic "Supermassive Black Hole A*" as the season...
...did you guess yet??....
....winter!
Or something. : P Anyway I'm still pretty happy with how it turned out; it was also a test of this new "Artist Series Illustration Paper" 150 lb coated paper made by Canson, which is pretty great stuff--some time not too long after this (successful) test, I started using it instead of their 140 lb Arches Watercolor paper for my comic.
The anti-bleed clay coating on the Illustration Paper can make for some interesting lines and patterns in ink wash--almost an oily or greasy pattern sometimes; you can see it here in the dark gray "space" areas around her, and I thought it kind of helped add some atmosphere (to space! haha whoo).
The figure also came out surprisingly well, go figure!
